International Medical Link (IML) main service is Medical Insurance in Uganda and operates Medical Clinics within Kampala.We seek to fill the ACCOUNTANT
The above should be ready to work both in a fast growing Health Insurance Firm.
Job description of an Accountant at IML
- Monitor bookkeeping activities regularly
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable, forecast revenues, regularly mobilize payment of outstanding debts from clients and analyse profit margins
- Perform regular, detailed audits to ensure accuracy in financial documents, expenditures and investments
- Oversee ledger reconciliation and manage accounts payable/receivable
- Participate in budgeting and planning processes at IML and brief senior managers regularly on the company’s financial status
- Keep company financial information confidential
- Establish accounting policies and procedures
- Stay informed on industry developments and changes in regulations requiring compliance
- Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings as well as generate appropriate reports on the company’s financial health and liquidity as required. 10. Ensure timely bank payments to clients and other stakeholders
- Compute taxes and prepare tax returns and other statutory payments as per the prevailing regulations
- Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
Requirements
- Proven work experience as a Certified Public Accountant
- Thorough knowledge of accounting and financial procedures
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with accounting software commonly used in Uganda.
- Advanced MS Excel knowledge (familiarity with formulas, pivot tables among others)
- Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
- Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information
- BSc degree in Accounting or Finance and a CPA certification
- Excellent reporting Skills
- Time Management
- Data Entry Management
- Additional training in Management and possession of managerial skills is added advantage
- General arithmetic skills
